A small team of friends and colleagues who work in UK schools

Who we are

We are a small team of friends and colleagues who work in UK schools. We love teaching, sharing our stories from school and watching the young people in our classrooms learn new skills, gain confidence and enjoy their learning. Between us we have spent decades teaching in a variety of settings. We have worked in international schools, Ofsted outstanding primary schools and top independent schools. We have also been heads of department, overseen curriculum and assessment reviews and been pastoral leaders. But most of all we love spending time with the children we teach even if they don’t find our jokes funny.

Why we do it

Help me do my Homework was inspired by the number of children and parents we’ve all seen who were having trouble completing their homework (we’ve had plenty of interesting stories too about the homework that was done but incredibly lost/burnt/eaten etc.). Sometimes children simply forget or become confused or never really understand how to do it in the first place. We chatted to parents at the school gate who wanted to help but couldn’t remember how to do these things or were worried about teaching outdated or incorrect methods.

So much about learning is about going over things again (if we only had to explain something to our classes once, we teachers would soon be out of a job...) and we firmly believe that with a positive attitude, time and effective support any child can succeed. The aim of this resource is not to do homework for you (what would be the point of that?) but to give you the skills and tips to accomplish it yourself.

We want this resource to be available to as many people as possible and have, we think, priced it accordingly. However, we are always interested in charitable partnerships so do please get in touch if you feel we could help.
